Caucasus: Dombay Indian Summer

There is a beautiful Indian summer on the Caucasus now.



The temperature is very comfortable, t +18º. It is warm and sunny. 


Last Sunday we went to Dombay,







a skiing resort, 180 km from home.



I personally prefer to ski on Elbrus, where there are no trees




...but the road to Dombay is really beautiful, 



especially in Indian summer.




Smells are terrific




When you stop, you hear leaves falling, quietly and fascinating…





Practically you travel in heavens…



…seing beauty everywhere…




Dombay area is overfilled with small hotels, because the resort is very popular among


some type of skiers and snow boarders,




…practicing extreme among the trees…




…as well as paragliding…




I use Russian cars in travelling in the mountains. The reasons are very simple.



They are good on ice and snow

And you feel your muscels while driving, as it keeps your legs strong as ever.


Each hotel, no matter how small it is, has its own restaurant.


The food is superb! To say ‘It is ecologically healthy’ is to say nothing.





The meat is juicy and so tasty…




Unlike Europe, Caucasian sheep eat grass in the wild!



This is honey from alpine meadows, each jar contains deffirent sort of it.




The air is so fresh…




…smelly with ice cold water…



…and pine-trees pitch…


…and wild berries…

Your Current Level of Self-Confidence

“Self-Confidence” is self-assurance in oneself or one's own abilities.

Today we shall speak about ‘Self-Confidence’ and how to measure its current level of with 100% accuracy.

The lack of Self-Confidence, or feeling under-confident in specific areas of life, makes many people struggle with it their entire lives.

No one sets out to get stuck in a job they don't like because they don’t have the Self-Confidence to change jobs or start their own business.

No one sets out to get stuck in a disempowering relationship or social circle, surrounded by people who don't really love and care about them.

No one sets out to be indecisive and procrastinate.

No one sets out to be nervous and anxious in social situations.

No one set out to struggle financially.

No one sets out to be unhealthy, overweight and out of shape.

But even though you may not have intentionally set out to have these things in your life, it's a safe bet that some or all of them affect your life in one way or another.

Unfortunately, these kinds of problems usually don't solve themselves. More often than not, they actually get worse.

A mediocre career doesn't suddenly get better. It acts like a slow sinking ship over a period of years.
A bad financial situation (too much debt, not earning enough money, not experiencing financial flow) doesn't magically fix itself.

A disempowering social circle or relationship situation doesn't suddenly become uplifting and supportive. Usually it drags you down further with each passing year.

An inability to respond confidently in social situations, meet new people, or ask for a date doesn’t suddenly get better over time.
A battle with your weight or lack of exercise won’t change by buying the next exercise gadget or reading another diet book.

Without the Self-Confidence to change these situations, we often feel stuck. Rather than making the changes, we turn to multiple forms of distraction -- web surfing, TV, video games, compulsive drinking, smoking, eating, drugs, etc. Deep down, the lack of Self-Confidence and dissatisfaction builds because we know our lives have gotten way off track.
But how do we fix it? – Let’s take a look.

You can only go for so many years dealing with boring jobs, inadequate finances, unsupportive relationships, and destructive health habits. Eventually those things will begin to erode your Self-Confidence.
Seriously now... isn't it much better to admit that we need to handle our Self- Confidence issues as opposed to denying we have them?

Lots of people succumb to denial. They act like they're growing, evolving and successful, when in reality nothing is significantly changing for them.

So how can you determine if you can use some help in building your Self- Confidence?

There is a simple formula that will measure your current Level of Self-Confidence with 100% accuracy.

The first step is to look at your life and see if there is any evidence that you're significantly better off now vs. 90 days ago.
What amazing results have you accomplished during that time?

The second step is to give each result a number from 1-10.

“1” would be nothing has changed, and “10” would be significant progress.

If you're really confident in EVERY AREA OF YOUR LIFE and making progress, you should be able to name a number of significant breakthroughs that occurred during the last 90 days, and they should be objective and observable.

Circle each one and rate them from 1-10. Some examples of specific results include:

Fulfilling work or business projects you completed.

1—2—3—4—5--6—7—8—9—10

A positive shift in your finances (Where are you now vs. 90 days ago? Did your income go up? Did your debt go down? Do you have more money or assets? Fewer liabilities? Did you make some intelligent investments?)

1—2—3—4—5--6—7—8—9—10

A positive change in your relationships (What evidence is there that you deepened your current relationships? Broke off an unhealthy relationship? Added empowering new friends to your social circle?)

1—2—3—4—5--6—7—8—9—10

A positive change in your health status (Did you lose fat? Did you gain strength, flexibility, or endurance? Did you adopt some positive new health habits?)

1—2—3—4—5--6—7—8—9—10

What does your recent past and your rating from 1-10 say about your Current Level of Self Confidence? If there's little or no evidence that significant change has occurred in EVERY AREA OF YOUR LIFE within the past 90 days, it's safe to say you're stuck and you lack Self-Confidence in those specific areas.

And if you can't see any real measurable progress over the past year, then you are REALLY stuck!

Right-Left Hemispheric People





It is good to recognize the type of personality you communicate or deal with. Very often, the type of personality is backed by the “hemisphere dominance.”

Ask a person to put palms together and bind fingers, quickly.




If the left thumb is on top, then you deal with the right-hemispheric person.

The right-hemispheric people are:

  • very talented;
  • inventive;
  • see every situation as the whole;
  • good at orientating in space/land/life situations;
  • adore high speed;
  • fearless;
  • have a lot of natural charm, friendliness and charisma;
  • direct & dominative in relationships;
  • impulsive;
  • may feel confused in delicate situations;
  • occasionally experience difficulties in finding the right answer (at exams, tests,  social situations when others obviously intend to dominate them);
  • immediately recognize fake emotions and “show-off”;
  • actively resist direct guidance and pressure from other people;
  • react first, then start analyzing;
  • often make mistakes in writing and reading and never bother with details;
  • quickly forget and forgive you;
  • live according to principle: “All or nothing!”
  • naturally generous;
  • prefer the “Veni, vedi, vice” lifestyle.


If you are provoking or looking for conflict with the right-hemispheric person,


…they would try to resolve the situation peacefully…

If you have missed this strategy and keep on steaming up situation,



…you will be attacked…



If the right thumb is on top, then you deal with a left-hemispheric person.

These people:

  • prefer logic rather than real feelings;
  • notice details first;
  • feel and structure time quite well;
  • masters in setting goals, outlining plans and follow them gradually;
  • good analytics;
  • skilled at detailed logically organized planning;
  • have good memory for detailed information, figures, events and texts;
  • have difficulties in outlining the holistic picture of events, phenomenon, experience;
  • often get stuck in details, plunging other people in quarrels and ‘clarifying relationships’;
  • to keep up with right-hemispheric people in pace, they often ‘try hard” to do something
  • often notice and point publically at your mistakes in spelling, speech and behavior;
  • may pretend that they love something or somebody;
  • carefully form their social image and stand on guard for it;
  • easily imitate others and follow them;
  • very careful in social situations and are eager to please you;
  • often tend to accuse and find faults with you;
  • envious of your success and are never sincerely happy for your achievements;
  • compete with you for better results, leadership and popularity;



…they would please you, telling you sweet words…
…and wait for your appreciation…

if you make them a laughing stock publically, they would keep offense for a long time,



…counting and registering your drawbacks..




So, one day they would ‘bite you’ unexpectedly and painfully!


Of course, all the characteristics discussed above are rather relative. During our lifetime, we acquire or develop purposely qualities from other people skills (hemispheric modalities).

Moreover, biologically our hemispheric activities change every 45 minutes. Right now you can test which of them is active now. Look at the dancing figure below. Which side is it turning now?




If it is moving clockwise, then you left hemisphere is active.

If counter clockwise – your right brain is functioning.

If the figure is changing its motion to the right and then left accordingly, then you are ambidextrous, i.e. your brain halves are in perfect and agreeable balance.
