Two Minds
As people, we tend to understand other
people and ourselves in different life situations. Most of us love to control
everything going smoothly, as we have our own plans of how things must unfold.
But!
Sometimes situations escape our control
and develop in the most unpredictable ways. We do unusual things; we speak of
something we did not plan to talk about.
When analyzing evening events and our
own states afterwards (let us say in the morning), there arises criticism,
uncertainty or even fear, as if we had done something wrong.
Each of us has the feeling, that there
are two minds in us, the two “I”, contradicting each other. One “I” enjoys
situations, people and pleasant states. The other “I” argues, contradicts and
conflicts.
The “two of you” referred to are the conscious and
subconscious minds.
Your conscious mind is the part of your mind that
deals with reason and logic.
It is the director of your subconscious mind, which is
the part of your mind that deals with energy and creation.
The subconscious mind is the
universe itself. It supplies you with wonderful feelings, states, love,
miracles and fabulous events. Thanks to your subconscious mind, you experience
comfort, desires, easiness and lovely states in presence of the ‘right’ people.
It allows you to read books and watch films with pleasure.
Your subconscious mind supplies you
with energy and fresh ideas to do what you love, dreaming including. It never
criticizes you or other people. You subconscious mind makes you feel good!
We seek to understand how everything works and to
discover the explanation of every mystery that presents itself to us. We do it
with our conscious mind.
You can never know everything consciously but you
already know everything subconsciously.
The intelligence of your subconscious mind is
infinitely far more than all the intelligence of your conscious mind.
Your subconscious mind works best when your conscious mind
is asleep or pleasantly occupied. It happens when other people understand and
value us the way we want to.
Our conscious and unconscious minds are
very much like the autopilot and the pilot: they cannot control the plane at
the same time.
The subconscious mind is always in
harmony and never argues about anything.
Our conscious mind always tries to find
explanation to events, words and behavior. It deals only with the known. It
aims at organizing our experience and memory about it according to habitual
logical structures, building walls around new meanings and pleasant experience.
If your conscious mind cannot accept what is happening
because it reasons against it, then it will send a conflicting impression that
will undo the first.
You may protest: how come! I hate the
idea about my conscious mind interfering into my life, spoiling my best
experiences! And you are right.
The sad truth is that under some
circumstances in your childhood and adolescence, you or somebody else directed
their will (part of conscious mind) to prohibit and prevent pleasant
experiences (ex, sex, masturbation, lovely relationships). Directed into your
physical body, this will keeps destroying your health, delightful emotions and
sensations. So, in some situations this childish understanding and point of
view interfere into your experience of a grown-up person with judgments,
critics and doubts. You feel awful and
exhausted.
This childish, immature mind often lies
at the basis of pain, addictions and shaming you behaviors.
You can be highly professional, with
well-organized logic and consciousness. But in personal life you may become a
scared child, running out of danger.
What can be done to stop conflicts and
live in peace, using both minds to advantage?
The first thing you can
do today is to get rid of immature conscious mind from your physiology. Just
say aloud:
“I intend
to free my body from conscious will and conscious mind.
I ask
(allow) biological intelligence to do it for me. Thank you!”
After saying these very important words
– a command to your organism – forget about it and do not bother of how it will
be done. It will be done only without your conscious control.
The second thing is to
learn about emotional intelligence – set of concepts about satisfying
relationships based on human physiology. As a result – to form own and pleasant
concepts & ideas about your ideal life (in family, community, social group,
etc). In this blog you can find plenty of articles and methods about lovely
relationships and soul-mating.
Knowledge about conscious and
unconscious minds will pour light into your understanding.
So, if you find yourself in the most unusual state of easiness, freedom, comfort and pleasure, and do not remember details - you were enjoying yourself in your wonderful subconscious mind. Do not even try to analyze the situation logically - you will loose the fabulous feeling from the universe. It was a gift for you from Heavens!
Life is challenging and knowledge
protects your from stress and darkness.
P.S. Several concepts about two types of mind in this article came from E. Tan’s brilliant book “Reality Secrets”.
