we shall make a very tasty and juicy salad with you.
‘Herring under Cover’ is a very popular dish in Russia
It is
cooked for big holidays and birthdays.
1.
We will need 2 or 3 fat salty herrings
Or you
can buy in pieces
Herring
is an excellent dish itself
We shall
create the salad as composed of layers with mayonnaise between each coat.
A bucket
of mayonnaise is good for this dish
2.
Boil potatoes, carrots and beet
3.
Cut herrings to small pieces and remove bones, of course
4.
Cut onions and place pieces as layer over the herring
5. Put
the layer of mayonnaise over onions
6. Grate
potatoes and form a layer
7. Put
rich quantity of mayonnaise over potatoes.
8.
Grate carrots and form a layer, then add mayonnaise over it.
9.
Finally, grate beet, form a layer and cover it with mayonnaise.
We do
not salt layers, as herring pieces contain enough of it.

salad must kept for 2-3 hours in your kitchen before serving (not in the
fridge). Layers will be soaked with mayonnaise.
The
salad is ready. You
can decorate the top with your fantasy.
