My Garden: Indian Summer & Grapes

My garden & house

Indian summer is a fabulous period, when the warmth of the nature is shining in blue and golden light by beautiful colors.

In the middle of October, we gather grapes. Most people in Caucasus make wine.

Google liked my picture of grape in my garden and made one with effects. It is so nice!

Since I do not drink alcohol, I prefer to make grapes in syrup, using an old-fashioned method.

It takes a lot of time, but the results are terrific.

You fill jars with grapes

Make dense syrup (400 g sugar per 1 liter of water) and pour it boiling into jars.

You put the jars into the oven for 40 minutes of sterilization (100 - 120°C)

and fix covers with special machine, immediately hot from the oven.

You put each jar top down, to be sure no juice is leaking

The drink is ready. It can stand in your basement for months. In time it will gain color of fine-looking wine, the taste terrific.

When your guests come, you treat them with super natural drink, adding water and ice, if needed.

Since you make this charming drink with love, everybody drinks love, sun and delicious juice of beautiful summer, sitting at your table. It will also heal your cold in winter.

Bunches of grapes from the jar can be used for cooking stewed lamb.

Together with garlic and spices,

you make a masterpiece.

Life is very tasty, like LOVE!
